Meet Emma

Simply put, Emma is an amazing friend. There is so much that goes into that statement, but she is. She is the type of friend who you will randomly get a letter from, just because she misses you. She sees her close friends as an extension of her family.
Prior to her loss of a close friend, and also having experienced grief, Emma's previous definition of friendship was more closeminded.
In the past year Emma has learned a lot about herself, and her friendships.
Has Emma's definition of friendship changed throughout her experience?
Having dedicated the past year on herself, her family and friends, Emma has found herself only in casual relationships in regards to romance. That doesn't mean that she doesn't think about it, or is not open to it.
Being such a good friend herself, Emma only deserves the best in return in a time of need.
It is not the moments when she is reminded of Katherine by her friends that Emma finds the most challenging, but it is when they approach the topic with insensitivity, despite the fact that strangers have already done so.
Sometimes this happens when people actually mean to do otherwise.
Emma will always be there for her friends, but one challenge that arose was balancing that with being there for herself.
