With the comfort and confidence that Annie carries herself, one would not believe the year she has had. She effortlessly is able to remain positive despite misfortune, an attribute she acclaims to her father.

Annie's family found themselves in a unique situation during their loss because of the pandemic.
By not only being there for her in a time of need, but taking the extra steps to do so during a pandemic, and doing so repeatedly, Annie has definitely seen some of her friendships grow.
The biggest challenge Annie has felt in regards to friendship has nothing to do with what her friends have done.
In spite of everything going on, Annie continues to strive towards positivity and kindness. Her dad taught her to do so, and it is very obvious that his energy is continuing to live through her, especially in her new found approach to friendships.
Has Annie's definition of friendship changed throughout her experience?
When asked if the grieving process strengthened her relationship, her answer was mixed due to the distance, on top of everything else going on.
When asked about challenges in the relationship in regards to grief, Annie's answer was much clearer; communication.

What her friends are doing that mean the most to her is simply being there and allowing her to grieve.
Its important to not only be there, but to be there consistently which, as Annie mentions, is harder when people are not.
